Lesson Plans
Lessons can be customized according to your learning goals and generally follow a beginner, intermediate, or advanced approach.
Beginner
The goal of beginner lessons is to get you playing your favorite songs, having fun, and enjoying your new instrument. Beginner classes introduce a basic knowledge of chords and how they work together to create songs. Selected songs will also serve as a template to explore ideas around rhythm, scales, and basic theory. Tuning the guitar will be explored as well as good posture and pick technique.
Intermediate
The goal of intermediate lessons is to expand your musical vocabulary and pursue your unique voice on the guitar. Intermediate players will dig deeper into song structure, strumming patterns, fingerstyle and flat picking techniques, and explore more complex rhythms and chord formations. Students will also learn blues and jazz chord voicings, blues scales and approaches to soloing and improvising.
Advanced
The goal of advanced lessons is to stretch your musical knowledge, achieve greater freedom of expression, and grow as an musician. Advanced players will explore more complex chord formations and musical theory, new scales for playing over chords, advanced soloing techniques, chromaticism for improvising over rock, blues, bluegrass, or jazz standards, alternate tunings for guitar instrumentals, and using guitar pedals to create new and experimental sounds.
